If you're reading this, then you are ahead of the vast majority because you are looking to educate yourself with regard financial literacy and money. However, 95% of the Western World choose to remain ignorant on the subject of money and stick their head in the sand when it comes to money related topics.
I say "choose to remain ignorant" because they actually do choose to be ignorant.
There are lots of resources out there to teach you how to create financial independence, but few people bother to access it. Fewer still will do anything with the information they find, and even fewer again, will stick to a plan long enough to get any results.

I am a simple guy, yet I know that money is extremely important to have.
Sure, it's not as important as oxygen, but it sure is up there on the list!
Whether we like it or not, money makes the world go around. It is what we spend more than half our waking hours pursuing for goodness sake!
Now, I know people will give excuses for their shortfalls on financial knowledge by saying stupid things such as:
"Money cannot buy you happiness". Correct, but I would rather be unhappy and rich than unhappy and poor.
"Money is not that important, there are more important things in life". Really???!!! I say that is a bullshit defeatist statement. Why do people spend 40 years of their lives working to make money if it's not that important??? Why do people spend hours at work missing out on time with loved ones if money is unimportant?
"Money is the root of all evil". Firstly, this is an incorrect quote of the original statement. The real real quote is "the love of money is the root of all evil". Secondly, if one truly believes that money is the root of all evil, and they still work to earn an income, then they may be a little hypocitical!
"Money doesn't interest me at all". If anyone ever tells you that, ask them why they spend 40 years or so of their lives trying to get something that they have no interest in?!
"I just need enough to be comfortable". A dumb statement. What they are saying is I have no idea how to do better, so I will change nothing and continue my journey in mediocrity or worse!
"You need money to make money". Sure, that's how Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Warren Buffet and so many other billionaires did it... they were born with a suitcase full of cash! People that use that that quote are showing their financial ignorance. The people above started with ZERO, and did I.
"You have to do some shady stuff to become rich". Now that is financial ignorance at it's best! They assume everyone that is successful is a criminal??!!! Really??!!
"The rich don't pay taxes". Again, more financial ignorance. However, the rich know the tax rules and work within them to maximise their deductions. What people do NOT realise is that the taxation system is designed to encourage entrepreneurs to *create businesses that employ people, *invest in infrastructure, *build and invest in *housing, *build and invest in commercial/industrial premises etc. Basically, there are tax breaks for you if you do what the government wants done and does not want to do themselves. As such, by providing employment, housing, infrastructure etc. the government rewards you with tax breaks and incentives! Entrepreneurs and business people know this, and use the tax incentives to minimise their taxes legally. On the other hand, poor people would never consider spending the money to get the right advice as they do not see the value in it, whereas the wealthy do.
"I don't know where to start". Actually, the truth is that they have never looked! There is a ton of information out there. People that are willing to help and guide. However, if you don't look and don't ask the questions, you will NEVER find the answers.
"Investing is risky". So is working all your life and finding out at retirement that you just don't have enough money to live on. Investing is only risky if you are NOT financially educated, so minimise the risk and get educated - simple! People spend coutless hours on social media, reading papers, watching videos and TV, socialising etc and spend zero time getting any form of financial education in order to plan for their future.
You see, to every statement in italics, there is an opposite point of view.
Your beliefs will manifest themselves in your life.
Again...... Your beliefs, will manifest themselves in your life!
If you believe the "excuses", you will use them to ensure that nothing good will happen.
If you can learn to believe the opposite of the excuses, then you will engage positivity and good things happen.
The choice is always yours...... make the choice for a better, wealthier and more fulfilling life.
Whatever you choose to tell yourself,
whatever you choose to believe
these things will become your reality
It is easy to remain ignorant.
It is hard to get financially educated, create a plan and stick with it, and that's why there are so few wealthy people as a percentage of the population.
Here is a serious exercise for you.... Whatever your "excuse" for poverty is, I want you to close your eyes, imagine that you are a wealthy person, now what would you say to someone that quoted your excuse to you???
We are not looking for a correct answer here, I just want you to take an opposing view to your "normal" beliefs, and argue against them.
Take the opposite view and try really hard. The argunment may not come to you immediately. Even if it takes a few days to do it, just do it!
If you can do the above exercise, and manage to argue against one of your excuses, then you have just learned that it is possible to look at things differently, take an opposing view and come up with a possible solution to beat thet excuse of yours.
NEVER be afraid to ask "why not" and look at the opposing view!
When it comes to financial education and wealth creation.... why not you???!!!
