Babe Ruth, the world famous baseball player is credited with making that statement... and it is absolutely true. You can only be beaten, if you give up.
If you're still out there trying, refusing to quit, have a "do-or-die" attitude, then you're still a serious contender in whatever game you have chosen to play - whether it be a successful life, wealth creation, business creation etc.
I cannot stress this enough.... Never, Ever Give Up!
The only times when people fail are:
When they take no action, and thus never start
When they start and then quit trying and give up.
The successful people never give up, never stop learning, and understand that life's challenges are there to teach them a lesson in order to make them better. They learn the lesson and graduate to the next challenge level - It's just like a video game, the only way to advance is to become successful at the level that you are currently at. Once you master that level, the game allows you to advance to the next level, that has different and more difficult challenges! Can you see the similarity between a video game and life itself?
We ALL have to play in the game of life. If you do not participate, then you are likely to be dead or some sort of vegetable! So, since we are all in this game, we should play to the best of our ability. Learn the game, master the current level and move up - simple!
In real life, we have people that will shoot for the stars and achieve success. Even if they don't quite hit the starts and just make it to the moon - that is still awesome. I like such people.
Of course, there are those that either, 1) shoot for the stars, and quit after experiencing setbacks, or 2) choose to shoot for nothing - in either case, they live a mediocre life at best.
Many of my friends are such people. I like people like these. Such people make our life easier, and we need them, otherwise there would be too much competition at the top!
Now, the way I see it, achieving success is hard, it takes a lot of time, effort, risk, and heartache. It can be soul destroying sometimes. However, those that choose to endure the pain and never give up, will eventually succeed.
Also, settling for mediocrity is also hard, because these people are forever trying to make ends meet financially, they will likely work until die, they will never have abundant spare cash, the only large amount of cash they will ever see, is via an inheritance or lottery win. They fail to understand how the world works economically, and as such are at the mercy of the markets, advisors or their own misguided stratgies. They will forever be falling behind financially.
In 1971, Australia's former Prime Minister, Mr Malcolm Fraser stated: "Life wasn't meant to be easy". In my opinion, he was absolutely correct. Life isn't mean to be easy.
Life is actually quite hard.
Now, I know that there is no way that you will argue with the former Prime Minister's statement... because you too understand that life is hard, for if it were easy, you would not be reading this!
Always remember: "Tough times never last, but tough people do" - Robert H Schuller
So, if we accept that life is not going to be easy, then consider yourself lucky in that you have a choice.... You can choose to have either:
A hard life of mediocrity, where you will have to work the rest of your days, struggle financially, and live a life of unfulfilled dreams and aspirations, OR
A hard life creating success and wealth, and creating a life others will only dream about. Achieving financial freedom, fulfilling your dreams, and eventually enjoying the fruits of your labour.
Once you recognise that you're either going to run with option 1 and bust your ass for the rest of your life, or, take option 2 and bust your ass for maybe 20 years in order to achieve your dreams (assuming you never quit, and get it right), then the choice becomes obvious.
Both choices are going to be "hard", it's just one has a far better outcome than the other.
Choose your "hard life" wisely!
